Case Overview
World Teachers’ Day is a global observance dedicated to recognizing the essential role teachers play in shaping learners and societies. In 2024, SACTD will host a regional celebration that not only honors educators but also launches a transformative digital initiative—the Community Learning Platform. This event brings together education professionals from across South Asia, both in-person and virtually, to champion teacher empowerment and policy innovation.

The Brief
This hybrid event convenes 30 in-person guests—including Presidents of National Colleges of Education (NCOEs), teacher educators, classroom teachers, and Ministry officials—at the SACTD premises in Meepe, Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, educators and stakeholders across India, Nepal, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka will join online. The celebration is designed as both a ceremonial and strategic gathering to launch a regional platform that fosters collaboration, continuous learning, and educational reform.

Our Approach
The event featured the launch of a digital platform, regional insights on teacher empowerment, leadership dialogue, and a concluding session fostering informal networking and collaboration among key South Asian education stakeholders.
